چکیده
C-reactive protein (CRP) is routinely assessed as a marker of systemic inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, it also an immune regulator that plays important role inflammatory pathways associated with RA and promotes atherogenic effects. Comorbidities linked to are common RA, CRP has been the risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, pulmonary diseases, depression. The relationship between inflammation, CRP, comorbidities complex, challenging determine how changing levels may affect or progression these comorbidities. We review biological its implications disease activity treatment response. discuss impact on whether reducing inhibiting CRP-mediated have conditions commonly comorbid RA.

Differential Expression of Rheumatoid Factor-Associated Cross-Reactive Idiotypes in Iranian Seropositive and Seronegative Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
High levels of rheumatoid factors (RF) are detectable in serum of the majority of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but 5-10% of patients remain seronegative (SN). Despite clinical and genetic similarities between these two subsets of RA, it has been proposed that they may be regarded as distinct clinical entities. Methods: In the present study a panel of monoclonal antibodies (mAb) rec...
متن کاملRole of C-reactive protein in osteoclastogenesis in rheumatoid arthritis
INTRODUCTION C-reactive protein (CRP) is one of the biomarkers for the diagnosis and assessment of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). CRP is not only the by-product of inflammatory response, but also plays proinflammatory and prothrombotic roles. The aim of this study was to determine the role of CRP on bone destruction in RA. METHODS CRP levels in RA synovial fluid (SF) and serum...

متن کاملComparing bone mineral density in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis
Background: Changes in patients’ bone mineral density (BMD) is one of the problems in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, which can be due to the use of corticosteroid drugs to reduce patients' symptoms or due to the aging process in patients. In this study, we decided to compare BMD in patients with psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: This study as a cross-sectional descrip...
